July is a BIG Month!

Ok, so I got a notification when I logged in that I had 9 page views! (considering I was under the impression that no one actually reads this, that really excited me.) Then I thought, "maybe my really good friends read my blog and they just want to check up on my life since I hardly hear from anyone" so I looked to see where they were coming from and they were all from Northern Russia...what the heck?! HAHA!! Well anyway I was going to share a recipe for Spinach Artichoke dip that I just love and there is really no point in recalling the recipe from the back of my mind just for some people who maybe don't even speak English? I don't know. Anywhooo... This month is a big month! We celebrated our 1 Year Anniversary on the 9th! It was quite lovely, although scaled down because T is still working. We are hoping to take off a weekend in September and take a nice mini vacation in Branson or something. I am very blessed with a wonderful husband, and although most people like to play off marriage as a pain and hassle, it really is a blessing and fun. I can say I have matured in the past year. I'm glad I didn't wait until like I was 25 like everyone told me to do, because I can marry my best friend in order to keep from doing things that are ungodly outside of marriage. And we were able to avoid all of that until marriage...YAYY!! This weekend we are going to White Water in Branson, I have only been there once when I was about 10 years old and we had a lot of fun then so I imagine this weekend will be double fun! And on a side note, the guy who is appraising the farm just came by and THANK THE LORD my house was clean...and by "clean" I mean "as soon as I saw him drive in the driveway, iI picked up random things the house and vaccuumed while he appraised other things." So I hope I made a good impression. Another thing coming up this month is both my mom and brother's birthday and the lake vacation. 11 days away from our home and KAT?!!?? So bittersweet! It also rained here for the first time in like 2 months! Praise God! Anyway, this shall wrap it up for now!
^^^that is the top tie of our wedding cake! we had some for our anniversary...not too shabby!

Summer

It's pretty sad when I promise the world I will start a blog and actually write in it every once in a while. And it's been about 2 months since I have so now I have to make one HUGE post about how my life has been since then. If I could sum it all up in one word, that would be: awesome...oh and hot. But that's not what this blog is about. I must type more than one word so here goes:
1. My mother taught me how to can Dilly Beans! They are so dang good we could hardly wait to weeks for them to finish. We've had 3 jars so far!
2. We had to dogsit for my mother in law. This is Cosmo and Maddie. Although they are cute and funny, one week was long enough to have them using the restroom in our house...yeah. They also like to bark at 2 in the morning for apparently no reason. Taylor said that Cosmo was barking in the wee hours of the morning so he got up to take him out and as soon as he got to the kitchen, where they were "sleeping," he forgot why he got up and went back to bed.
3. My beloved sister came out from California for my neices graduation in Little Rock. She spent a few days in Arkansas with us and I miss her already. (She needs to move out here.) We went to Eureka Springs and did some shopping and looking around. I really enjoyed our time together.
4. Last weekend we went for a hike up at Withrow Springs State Park and brought a picnic dinner (Sandwiches, Veggie Chips, Caeser Salad, Strawberries.) It was a lovely evening.
5. We have had the worst infestation of grasshoppers outside in our yard. I can't even bear to go outside, because when you walk, you have to part the sea of grasshoppers. Yesterday, one hitched a ride on our windshield when we drove for ice cream (which is much needed in this heat.) We have had 3 days in a row where it has gotten in the low 100s. So we desperately need some rain to get rid of the grasshoppers and to make it to where we can actually do fireworks on the fourth of July.
Our 1 Year Anniversary is in just 11 days. We planned a date night where we would replay our first date. We are going to watch Toy Story 3 (at home since it isnt in theatres anymore, and Go to Starbucks and talk for nearly 3 hours. Also we are gonna eat dinner out, which we didn't do on our first date, but we are adding it. We discussed even wearing what we wore on our first date. So excited! Then, the following Sunday we are taking a trip with Taylors side of the family up to White Water in Branson. it should be loads of fun!
Well, anyway, I do see myself coming back here more often than the beginning of the summer to give updates on everything that is going on in the Watkins family! Remember, James 1:17

Spring Break!!!!!!

This last week was so stinkin' stressful...not really, but I did have to study for a Biology midterm, then somehow come up with ways to correctly answer my Philosophy essays (7 of them) I hate Philosophy, especially since it's hard to logically think about where we come from since I know the answer based on faith. But in philosophy, you have to deny all those things in order to be "right" which is actually "wrong." HA! The only thing really cool about last week was hanging out with my old friend Mikayla! She's just awesome! And we giggled all afternoon like little girls...

So today is officially my first day of spring break!

Guess what i get to do for the next 9 days?? Schoolwork.

YEP!
Two of my online class instructors decided I would be able to do some assignments and a few quizzes since somehow they figured I really have nothing to do next week. Seriously...NOTHING! I am meeting up with my friend, Katie on Tuesday, but that's pretty much it. Otherwise, I will be at home, cleaning and cooking, and cleaning...

Now i know why they call it Spring Cleaning!

Intro!

Hey there! Well, I'm Evan (yes, a girl Evan, can you believe it?) and my husband's name is Taylor. We have been married for a little over 8 months now! I love every minute of it! So, I'm 19, and he is 21. Now, before you tell me how young I am, just stop right there, because honestly, I know that I am, but I didn't want to have to wait to get married because I was too young, I got married because I love Taylor and God called us to get married.

ANYWAY...

I've been going to school since August. I really like it, and I'm kinda glad I didn't go to Harding University like I planned. I just like being closer to my family. Plus, I like that Taylor can work here on our little farm. (and i won't even say how much money it would have cost.) As Proverbs 16:9 says "A man's heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps."

The weather here has been so nice...warm and sunny! I love it!!
